Radiologic Technologist-Outpatient Practice

General Summary Responsible for medical assisting and performing venipuncture on patients.
Works under the supervision of physicians, allied health professionals, and the practice manager.
Essential Job Responsibilities Provides comprehensive care to patient requiring medical imaging services in an organized and systematic manner according to established departmental policies and procedures Accepts responsibility for appropriate and safe use of equipment and resources, and accurately performing radiographic procedures Instructs the patients to undergo the appropriate positions to get accurate images Keeping radiographic equipment in quality working order Obtaining images for any areas requested by the physician or radiologist Maintains appropriate record keeping Preventing exposure from certain areas of the patient's body to avoid radiation exposure Daily resource management (time, materials, supplies, equipment) Demonstrates the ability and competency to respond quickly and efficiently in emergency situations Maintains patient confidentiality and performs position responsibilities in an ethical and professional manner Collaborates with patients, significant others, physicians and other ancillary departments to become a multidisciplinary health care team whose goal is to provide care that is continuous and well-coordinated Obtains, verifies, and records health history of patients.
Gathers pertinent health data through physical assessments and biological samples.
Collects specimens for laboratory analysis.
Anticipates exam room procedures and prepares instruments and supplies.
Provides basic patient care as ordered.
Administers treatments as directed.
Assists other health care professionals in performing exams, diagnostic procedures and treatments, and minor medical procedures.
Adheres to infection control/safety guidelines and confidentiality policies.
Documents assessments, interventions, patient/family responses, and medication dispensed/prescribed, and test results in medical records.
Maintains medical supply levels in exam rooms.
Responsible for instrument sterilization procedures.
Maintains patient confidentiality and performs position responsibilities in an ethical and professional manner.
Performs venipuncture, capillary punctures on patients as directed by physician and following medical practice protocols related to safety, infection control, and confidentiality.
Enters data into EHR.
Other similar and related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements Previous experience in Radiology with proficiency in X-Ray / Two years medical assisting experience Graduate of approved school of Radiology and NJ State licensed.
Knowledge of medical terminology, medical insurance, and medical practice services and routines Certified AART, BLS & CMA Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities Experience working with Electronic Medical Record system (Athena preferred), medical charts, stethoscope, blood pressure cuff, speculums, and other nursing items.
Strong customer service skills Reliable transportation; travel between office locations may be required.
